Mulgrave School

I have gone to Mulgrave School from 2007 to 2011 where I received International Baccalaureate Diploma.

The courses I have taken are: Math HL, Physics HL, Chemistry HL, Economics SL, English SL, and Spanish ab initio

Gauss contest –grade 8 top 25%
Pascal Contest –9 top 25%
Cayley Contest –10 top 25%
Fermat Contest –11 top 25%: listed in the Results Booklet on the CEMC Web site
Euclid Contest–grade 11 top 25%: received contest medal

AMC 12
received CAMC Mathematics Book Award for top-scoring in BC.

Activities

Community Service / Volunteering

Global Outreach Program at Costa Rica
Volunteer, assisted in community enhancement projects such as building schools and houses, taught English at the local school, interacted socially with the Costa Rican students, and embarked on culturally enhancing tours of this country.

Altar Server for 9 years
Altar Boy Leader, assisted the priest in the preparation of mass, as well as during the mass, assisted the priest during the communion ceremony, and participated in the special Christmas and Easter rituals.

Extra Curricular Activities

Mulgrave Jazz Band
Lead Saxophonist, practice once a week, and perform at a variety of venues, improvise solos during performances.

UBC Summer Music Camp
Jazz Band, lessons on improvisation, daily rehearsals, and final performance/recital

WVYB
Started out in the beginner band, then junior, then concert band.

School Leadership Activities

Grad Comittee
Responsible for designing and organizing grad rings for grad students.

Mulgrave Emergency Response Team
First Responder, complete standard and emergency first aid, and first responder course, sign-in to receive communication devices to be on-call duty, write reports on incidents, respond to emergency situations at school.

Cypress Student Summit
Science/Math Chair, plan, organize, and lead workshops.
